Do I have to pay a deposit for my painting?
Yes, we ask for a $500 retainer to hold the date but customers are also able to pay as much as they want up front.
Are you able to add people into the painting who are not in attendance?
Yes, I can add people who are not in attendance if I’m notified beforehand and sent adequate photos either through text or email. I can definitely add a few loved ones who have either passed on or could not attend the event.
Do you have a specific scene will you paint?
As far as scenes for the painting that is left up to the decision of the customer. As for weddings, 90% of customers usually pick the first dance as the scene but any scene that is specified beforehand can be done. Some scenes like the actual wedding ceremony may have to be photographed then painted from the photographs during the reception. The customer usually lets me know ahead of time what scene or view and where I am to be positioned at the event before hand.
Are you open to painting at any events outside of weddings?
Yes of course, I can paint at any event as long as I have at least 3 1/2 to 4 hours to complete a 24 x 30 Painting. I’ve painted at conventions, concerts, anniversaries, private parties, and surprise anniversary parties, award ceremonies, etc.
Do you finish the painting at the wedding?
I usually finish the painting at the event and the customer or family member takes it home or leaves it at the venue for pick up later. We can make arrangements to where I can take the painting with me and the customer can retrieve it later. We can even make shipping arrangements if need be. If for some reason time constraints keep me from completing the entire painting, I complete the main elements during the event and can take it back to the studio and do all the finishing touches in any additional customizations later.
Can you add finishing touches by request?
Yes, I can add finishing touches by request and any customization can definitely be done! If someone request additional details I would take the painting with me and finish at my studio. We would work out whatever additional costs if any. If there is a timing constraint, I complete the last finishing touches after the event in my studio. When completed, the customer can either make arrangements to pick up the painting in person, or we can have it shipped for an additional cost.
What if I need some wiggle room with the package cost?
We are certainly open to working within your budget to find something everyone can be happy with.
Yes, we do have some wiggle room and can negotiate a fair price that everyone’s happy with. We’re definitely willing to work within your budget.
Are you willing to travel outside of New Orleans?
Yes, I am willing to travel outside of New Orleans. I frequently fly to locations to do live event paintings. We ask for the flight and hotel to be included in the cost of the package. I am willing and happy to work with you on all of the arrangements.
